Desde que tengo memoria hice arte. Pintaba, escribía e ilustraba historias, esparcía papel y materiales de arte a mi alrededor en el suelo y dibujaba durante horas. Yo era el "niño creativo" que siempre garabateaba en clase, ¡incluso me inscribí en clases de arte adicionales fuera de la escuela primaria en el centro de arte local! Obsesionado .
Crecí en la gran ciudad de Minneapolis (¡ Prince vivía aquí y tenemos más de 10,000 lagos!), Teniendo aventuras en mi patio trasero, jugando en los lagos y ríos, inventando historias imaginarias de unicornios en mi bicicleta arcoíris y explorando el lugar. La comunidad artística fue una gran parte de mi educación.
Fui a la Facultad de Arte y Diseño de Minneapolis y me gradué con un BFA en Ilustración. Mi primera pasantía fue en una empresa de diseño de productos que creaba decoraciones navideñas y de Halloween. Después, diseñé internamente en empresas de diseño locales durante unos años y vendí mis diseños en Walmart, Target y Walgreens, y en muchas otras tiendas minoristas. Pero, sabía que tenía un llamado para más ...
En 2016 finalmente hice realidad el sueño de mi vida, comencé a trabajar como autónomo y ¡nació Emiko Rainbow! Proporcionar ilustración y diseño de productos para licencias de arte, diseño de productos y libros para niños. Hoy en día, el arte se puede encontrar en tiendas de todo el mundo, en niños, decoración del hogar y de la pared, juegos de regalo, papelería, decoraciones para fiestas, productos para mascotas y mucho más.
Puedes encontrarme en mi patio soleado, dibujando en mi ipad, comiendo sushi, viendo jugar a mi perro salchicha y mi perro callejero. O hacer un picnic con mi esposo y mi hija.

After 7 years as an in-house product designer, I was burnt out and the golden cuffs kept getting tighter. I finally made the scary jump and started on my own, as a full time artist and designer, a dream of mine for many years. Ever since commanding my creative business, I have created unique, colorful art that celebrate authenticity and diversity. Being a racially mixed woman I use my unique experiences and emotions to express art that embodies confidence, self love and humanity. Recently I illustrated my first published children's book, Nana and Abuela and collaborated with the Minnesota Twins designing an exclusive Artist Series T-shirt.
I hope you are inspired to inject some boldness and add a touch of joy and color into your life.
